The Vancouver Holocaust Education Centre has presented the 2025 Meyer and Gita Kron and Ruth Kron Sigal Award, to Chantel Parsons, recognizing her outstanding contribution to Holocaust education in BC,
Chantel is a geography and history teacher at Mark R. Isfeld Secondary School in the Comox Valley. Her Genocide 12 course is one of the school’s most popular electives. VHEC describes her teaching as a combination of historical precision and critical inquiry. She challenges students to engage with topics such as Holocaust denial and distortion, subjects often underrepresented in high school curricula.
